ARTHUR
This raglan sweater is a tribute to playwright Arthur Miller, Marilyn Monroe’s last husband. It embodies the sweater in its most basic form and essence. We can’t live without it. It’s the first item thrown in our weekend bag, and the one we grab from our boyfriend because we love it so much. Made from camel wool, a soft, lightweight fibre known for its thermoregulating properties, this basic retains its iconic sportswear appeal with its raglan armhole. Its shape has been softened, infused with more flow than its masculine counterpart. Its ribbed border has been removed to bring greater movement and dynamic appeal. ça va de soi has chosen to preserve the camel fibre in its natural shade.
Similar to goats and sheep, camels periodically shed a fine, smooth down, able to stand up to the hot and cold extremes of the desert. Preserved in its raw state, these fibres yield a magnificent soft knit, particularly absorbent, keeping you cosy in winter and cool in summer.
